Instructor: Gil Santos. Mr. Santos is a faculty member of the Office of Sciences Department at the New York Career Institute, where he has been teaching Microsoft Office Suite, FrontPage, Publisher and Introduction to Computers since 1997. He has served as education specialist and dean of Academic Affairs and Student Services at Empire Technical School, as well as a computer consultant for Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York. He has written curriculum for the International Business School in Jersey City. A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (with a major in electronics and communications, and a minor in computer science.) After graduating he worked for Bechtel Corporation/Mobile Oil Company in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia as a computer applications specialist.
Subjects will include: Getting to know the personal computer; Using Windows; Managing documents; Printing documents; Accessing the Internet; Exploring the World Wide Web; Sending and receiving e-mail; Personal finances/banking on-line; Maintaining Windows and the computer; Making your version of Windows special; Troubleshooting; Using applications that come with Windows.
