Admissions Policies

Entrance Requirements

Mechanics Institute offers tuition-free evening training.

To qualify for admission into the programs, applicants must:

  • present a college transcript, high school diploma, or GED
  • present their Social Security card
  • present a letter from their employer
  • complete an Entrance Evaluation to assess entry-level competencies

Registration Fee

The registration fee is $100.00 per semester. Registration fees are due at the time of registration and must be in the form of money order, certified check, or credit card. Please note that all registration fees are non-refundable.

Construction Project Management, Facilities Management, Historic Preservation, and Construction Documents

Technical School

Electrical Technology, Plumbing Design, HVAC Systems, and Architectural Drafting

Mechanics Institute is a private school not under the purview of the New York Board of Education nor licensed by the New York State Education Department. The School's certificate of completion has no degree equivalence and is not necessarily recognized by other degree-granting institutions.
